I didnt know what to write about all morning until now. The thought just popped into my head to write about forgiveness.
What is forgiveness?
Forgiveness is the mental and/or spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment, indignation or anger against another person for a perceived offense, difference or mistake, or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution. Simply put, it is letting go of any hurt you feel against someone who has wronged you. Its easier said than done, dont you think? Oh! yes it is, but in the long run it is the best thing to do.
Is it a friend ,an ex-fiance or fiancee, a brother, sister, father, mother, uncle, aunt, colleague who hurt you? Did it hurt so bad you thought you could never forgive him/her? Uhmmm... i know what it feels like to be hurt, and i mean to be hurt real bad. You feel like your world is falling apart, but the truth is your world will only completely crumble when you choose not to forgive.
Isnt it interesting to know that the person who hurt you goes about his/her life like nothing ever happened, while we go about you move about with so much pain and hatred on the inside? The person who hurt you isnt the one going through the pain, rather it is you who chose to hold a grudge that suffers from so much pain, hurt, ulcers, migraines, sleepless nights ....and the list is endless.
Something happens when you choose to forgive; You move a step higher than the person who chose to condescend to offend you, isnt it amazing ? It sounds too good to be true, but that is exactly what happens when you choose to forgive.
So the next time someone offends you, make a decision to forgive instead of holding it against him or her. Its actually easier to forgive than to bear a grudge.
Shalom !

You are quite right. The Lord knows better, that's why He commands that we forgive. I have come to understand that I need to forgive the offender for my own good. It doesn't really matter whether the person is repentant or not. Shalom
